Born on July 27, 1976, in North Carolina, she demonstrated an early affinity for the arts, immersing herself in piano lessons and writing throughout her childhood.

Educated at several colleges from Concordia College to MSU, then landing at SCAD later in life, her time studying was pivotal, allowing her to refine her skills and develop her signature aesthetic—a blend of historically accurate technique and sewing with a creative flair for recreating vintage pieces. Through the years, she honed her craft and was featured in theaters, theme parks, films, cosplay, and steampunk conventions. She also gained a wealth of experience being featured in several fashion shows throughout the US and the world.

Since she began sewing, Casey July has garnered acclaim for her cosplay pieces, which have won awards. And she has been sought out by clients to create everything from stage costumes to unique wedding dresses. Each piece reflects her belief in the marriage of traditional technique and unique beauty. Her work has also been featured in various publications, and she has collaborated with notable artists, photographers, and designers, further elevating her brand's profile.

Beyond her design work, Casey July is passionately committed to sustainability and ethical practices in her industry. She actively seeks out deadstock and thrifted fabrics for her projects. CaseyJuly also collects vintage and retro buttons, laces, trims, and more to make sure that her work not only looks and feels vintage but also reduces that waste that her passion produces.
